No-Code 4 Digital Creators
Seems that there will be a new community revolution for creatives entering the Web3 space. Today I share three powerful no-code tools Digital Creators can use to build the next-gen communities.
During the past two years, I’ve been increasingly workign towards becoming what’s usually referred to as a Web3 native. And I’m only approaching this from the technology and the use this technology could have for creatives.
The way I do research is by following the do-fail-repeat approach. It works great, those sometimes it hurts.
The past year, especially with digital creations and NFT, all went south. We had 1% of creators focus on the tech, and 99% of users focus on making a fast profit. The self-titled “Degens.” Yes, some people self-tag as “degenerates,” trying to redefine the meaning of a pretty obscure word. I still don’t get it.
So long story short, most of that 99% lost their way, gambling in a hype-and-dump game, and lost. Winter arrived, and only a bunch of creators remained, those focused on the technology, those who wanted to talk to their communities, and I had the chance to meet many of them.
Now, I’m starting to see pretty cool products arise from those ashes, products that can become extremely useful for any digital creator. They can be used separately, but the idea is to show how they can work together to create, build and deploy the next generation of digital content and communities.
This tool is gaining popularity fast, Manifold Studio. My first contact with
was way back. I used the royalties registry they built alongside the marketplaces like Foundation, Nifty Gateway, OpenSea, Rarible, and SuperRare, because I had two NFT collections, and I wanted to enforce royalties on both and not leave this to the marketplace to decide. Pretty amazing tool 👉 royaltyregistry.xyzFast forward a few months, and I came across the Manifold Studio, a No-Code application that’s not only easy to use, you can deploy a collection in less than an hour, but also improves constantly. It’s like having a blockchain developer at your fingertips.
What makes this one different than others, and why it is gaining popularity fast, is that it’s nailing it when it comes to building a product for creators for that 1% I’ve mentioned above. I haven’t used it to deploy a contract, but I plan to do so.
Some of the key features: No-Code (just clicks)
Create Contracts ERC-1155 and ERC-721, for less than $100
Mint a single token or edition, fully customizable
Burn to Redeem function. Holders can exchange a token for another one
Deploy your customer mining site, your auction page, and under your URL
Test the contracts and mint sites before deploying (super useful)
Interoperability, meaning the contract is created, works with all marketplaces.
All of the above was impossible a few months ago without relying heavily on a developer. Manifold is putting a no-code tool that can empower any digital creator to release a collection basically on the go and low cost.
Now I have some ideas on how you can leverage this depending on the type of creator you are
Photographer: take the 10K (at least) best images in your Lightroom and make them into a collection. Offer them for free to your community.
Videographer: take small experimental clips. Remember that movie “American Beauty” and the scene with the floating plastic bag?
Content Creators: create a drop for a single token mint for your fans, and then you can use a function like a burn to redeem to give them merch (I’ll talk Shopify in another post); you can give them 1.1 calls, meetups, etc.
Musicians: get your experimental tracks out there.
Illustrators: allow your fans to have your art tokenized. Perhaps redeemable for signed copies of the work and merch.
Brand Creators: you can create discounts as a loyalty program your audience can later redeem for extra benefits and utility.
With Bueno, I’m absolutely biased. I’ve created my collection with them, love at first sight. It was an amazing experience to see how 8888 generative characters illustrated by the award-winning illustrator German Gonzalez were coming to life.
I had the chance to meet the Bueno team a few times and test a few features, and I can say the company created by Pablo Stanley, the founder of the NFT project Robotos is amazing.
It’s worth mentioning that since I used them to create my collection one year ago, they added a bunch of cool features that include (and overlap a bit with) the ones offered by Manigold. But, I want to focus on the creation part. With Bueno creating generative art is an extremely easy and visual process.
For example, take this project. It is called Sloooth by a good friend of mine, Ramon (aka @pequelord). He is an NFT & 3D artist, illustrator, and product designer with years of experience. He is also the founder of another project called The Michis
Bueno, it’s fantastic, and I encourage any visual artists to try it out. There are some extra features I haven’t mentioned, including a Web3 form to capture data for allowlists, for example, or events, then the mint contract, which will allow you to deploy your mint page and widget fast on your website. A must.
Last but not least, we have Token-gating.com by Gueb3. I came across this service while looking for a way to create token-gated native webpages pages for Creative Friendz. I haven’t used or tested them myself, but I plan to. Very soon, I’ll share more on the actual use case and the result.
What in the hell is that? For those who don’t know what token gating is, well, it’s the equivalent of a guy at the entrance of a venue asking for tickets.
Token-Gating created this no-code tool you can use as an embed in your website. Yes, just inserting a few lines of code, you, in theory, can turn any site in your website into a gated something.
How do you do that? You can create let’s say, a page on your site that only those with an NFT can access. This can be an event, a live stream, a special discount, or anything you can imagine
How can you use token-gating? You can create any contact and make it accessible only to those in your community that minted your token (paid or free if that’s your thing) or if they acquired it in the secondary market.
Courses, classes, or training.
Coaching or 1:1 sessions
Shop Secret Drops or discounts
Live Streams or exclusive videos.
Holders only merch, or download and more …
The possibilities are endless. We all love Patron and buy me coffee and things like that, but the power of the new generation of communities lies in the capacity to evolve, the capacity to transfer that subscription to someone else.
